Wins on price and quality not ambiance or comfort. And that's a big win. No nonsense, touch screen ordering with a wide enough selection of sushi to satisfy most everyone. Business was brisk with to-go and delivery so it wasn't the fastest dine-in experience but some tasty miso and good salmon made it worthwhile. In other words, I think the discount makes up for the crowded interior and so-so service. It's about the fish not the decor.

I love ugly sushi because its FRESH MADE. they deliver fresh made, also you can dine in if you're smart enough to read the sign in the front door that says please use back door. If you are worthy, you too can dine in and watch others as they attempt to open a locked door.

The quality of the sushi here is mediocre. Not whole-foods bad, but just not superb quality. The restaurant is usually gloomy, but I have been going here for a long time and the prices are good. I would recommend to anyone looking for a quick bite.UPDATE: This place just underwent a huge makeover. The restaurant now allows you to order from computer and the food comes faster. The quality of the sushi is a bit better but still not unbelievable quality.

First time here and we really enjoyed the salmon skin salad, rainbow roll and soft shell crab roll. Food was good a must try. Small menu but it has good selections.

They accept card and cash. But if you pay with card you don’t get the option to Tip, so therefore bring some cash for tip since cooks get down and make you an awesome meal for eating in or for Togo.Reviewed after Corona: They are still Open and helping us get our Sushi Fix! This is My wife’s Favorite sushi spot and the Volcano 🌋 roll DOES NOT disappoint!! I also get the Salmon plate which comes with Fried veggies (tempura). They helped me through the side door, I called 10min ahead while on Fwy from DTLA and once we got there the order was ready! Owner was so friendly, even hooked me up with some Purell from a bottle he had Nearby! Now that’s Customer service and looking out for your fellow humans!

NO LONGER CASH ONLY!!Very affordable, delicious sushi! There isn't a lot of seating inside (if memory serves there are 3 tables which seat 4 each), but it's not typically very busy. Highly recommend!

Food was DELICIOUS, and crazy cheap. I had the baked crab roll, it was $6.75 I think, 6 pcs. Only downside was there were what I thought were bones in every piece, but they didn't look like bones, and it was imitation crab... So I don't know.

You go here for take-out/delivery sushi. It's pretty cheap and on a good day, it's actually pretty edible.On an average or a so-so day, well, you might not regret your life choices, but you clearly know you've settled for take-out/delivery sushi.

Came not expecting much but left very satisfied by some fresh delicious sushi. They have touch screens at each table to order your food and drinks. It’s very easy to use and convenient. The sushi is fresh,delicious, and very cheap. I recommend the ugly roll, it has to be one of the top 3 best rolls I have tried. I will definitely be back!

Best cheap sushi in LA! Idk why I’ve seen bad reviews - maybe I just missed a hiccup phase they had in the past? Highlights: FREE PARKING and did I mention cheap sushi?? I get the sashimi salad every time and it’s absolutely perfect with great cuts of sashimi.

The food and service were beyond my expectations. I absolutely loved the vibes of this restaurant. Great spot to take my family out for lunch.

Not a bad sushi place, but I've had better. The fish (salmon, yellowtail) didn't taste as fresh as could be. Service was good though and a nice selection of rolls.

This place has heart and you will certainly feel welcome. But the fish and the sushi preparation is just not up to par. I've been a few times now in the past year and finally I've come to realize that the convenience (ample free parking and guaranteed immediate seating) isn't worth it.

I had an excellent experience at this restaurant. They serve great food with amazing prices. You can order anything with a simple tap on the screen. The roll was beyond my expectation.The staff are nice and friendly. Ugly Roll Sushi is a place that worth giving a try!

Been here several times, nice budget buster for Sushi. Scallop Spring Roll. Was dynamite, the Omega-3men soup with Smoked Salmon and Shrimp was great. However the softshell Crab Roll was a little undesirable. Didn't appear to fresh or as good as some other places. Other than that a pleasant experience. I will definitely come back again.

Average quality sushi with below average prices. The fish is decent but it's not always well cut. But it's all in all pretty good. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for new sushi.ProTip: They're cash only.

I took my kid here to eat, gave it three stars because although the staff was great with customer service the menu lacked choices. There was nothing that grabbed my attention and made me get excited about ordering. It felt more like I was forced to order out of necessity instead..

Love Ugly Roll. I havee been coming here for three years and the place has upscaled beautifully. TV tablet ordering and the food comes out right under the glass next to you. You even get to watch it get prepared while you chat. Sushi is always consistently good and plated very nice. 5 stars easy
